Minden Tahoe Airport
The Minden Tahoe Airport in Douglas County is the third busiest airport in Nevada. This FAA project involved asphalt grinding, drainage improvements, crack sealing, paving fabric and a 2 inch overlay of Taxiway A. Communication and coordination with the airport was critical to minimize runway closures, disrupt air traffic and ensure safety to everyone on the ground and in the air. This project was successfully completed in September and October 2012.

Taboosi Way, Yerington Nevada
A&K Earth Movers, Inc. has been awarded a contract for the construction of Taboosi Way for the Yerington Paiute Tribal Housing Authority. The project was a street contruction project which consisted of earthwork, aggregate base installation, concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk and 30,000 square feet of asphalt paving. The project also included the installation of an underground storm water infiltrator system. We began construction in mid-June and completed the paving on July 20th, a full 2 weeks ahead of schedule.

NDOT 3413 & 3457
These two Nevada Department of Transportation contracts ran concurrently in the summer of 2011 in a remote stretch of US95 between Reno and Las Vegas. These projects consisted of pavement grinding, cold recycled asphalt pavement, drainage improvements, shouldering material and placement of 170,000 tonas of new asphalt pavement over 44 miles of two lane highway.

NDOT Maintenance Facility - Sparks, NV
A and K reconstructed approximately 4 acres of heavy duty asphalt parking lot for NDOT's equipment maintenance facility. The project consisted of drainage improvements and installation of a 4,000 gallon storm water treatment system, fueling station reconstruction, concrete driveways and aprons, new aggregate base and asphalt paving. |
