 Wal-mart Super Store On Glendale Avenue Reno, NV
A & K Earth Movers Inc are currently working on the site package for Wal-Mart Super Store #2106-03 on Glendale Ave. The project is located on a 19.41 Acre site that is made up of numerous parcels that were acquired by the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony. There has been undocumented fill deposited on the site for several decades which require the site to be over excavated to native soil, requiring A & K to run this material thru a screening plant taking out the over size material and debris. We worked closely with the Soil Engineer Kleinfelder at assure the Owner, that we did not place any fill on the undocumented fill areas. The construction schedule is accelerated requiring that the building pad 190,000 SF be completed within 5 week. The pad required that we move 48,000 CY of undocumented fill, running it thru a screening plan and place it along with the import of 51,000 CY of import. We completed this portion of the project several days before the scheduled completion date, working 7 day a week thru the wet winter that we encountered this year. The remaining portion the site was completed on schedule with the storm drain being installed next. The under ground utilities include 5,200 LF of Storm Drain Pipe, 32 Manholes, and a Storm Detention System that includes 3 EA 96”x210 LF CMP, and a Storm Water Pump Station. The water system has 6,800 LF of 10” C-900 pipe with 8 Fire Hydrants, the sewer system has 1,100 LF of 8” sewer with 4 Manholes. We are installing then Type II aggregate base for the site concrete and paving which is 445,000 SF of 6” base materials. We are paving the site with 324,000 SF of 3” mix and 71,850 SF of 4” Mix from our own hot plant.
